Envision Frederick County welcomes new member to our Board of Directors!

I am very pleased to announce the addition of Bruce Zavos to the Envision Frederick County Board of Directors.

For a long time, Bruce has truly exemplified the sort of engagement in important issues and genuine commitment to our community that Envision Frederick County was established to support and foster.

We are excited about the experience and expertise and vision Bruce will add to our board, and we appreciate that he is willing and able to add Envision Frederick County to the list of ways he works to make a difference.

Bruce ZavosBruce Zavos is president of ZA+D, LLC, a full-service architectural firm, founded in Frederick, MD in 2003, with seven professionals whose diversity and experience enables ZA+D to handle the most complex and challenging projects while meeting the needs of their clients.

Bruce has been a creative force in the communities in which he has worked by providing designs that are both practical and emotive. As a registered architect in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania, he has been the recipient of a variety of design and historic preservation awards and maintains active membership in the American Institute of Architects, the Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers, Maryland Affordable Housing Council and National Council of Architectural Review Boards.

Bruce, through his advocacy for decent, safe and sustainable affordable housing, has been an invited panel member for the Alliance for Affordable Housing Conference in Virginia, DC AIA’s Passiv House Panel Discussion and the Frederick’s Chamber of Commerce Generation Next Symposium on Affordable Housing. He is a Board member of Habitat for Humanity, Frederick County Coalition for the Homeless, the Frederick Arts Council and is the former Chair of the Affordable Housing Council of Frederick County, Maryland.

Along with his wife Eileen Ebert, a pediatrician at the Pediatric Center of Frederick, they have raised five children and have resided in Frederick for over thirty years.
