Green Drinks is a worldwide movement to connect people interested in sustainability issues. It is a loosely structured group (no officers or organizational framework) that puts together a group of people in an interesting location with food and beverage, for the purpose of networking and education. Often, there is a short, informal presentation by a speaker to highlight a particular sustainability topic.
Begun in Frederick by Rich Maranto of MD Goes Green, it has evolved into being hosted by a number of different groups (see http://www.greendrinks.org/MD/Frederick).
Envision Frederick County’s Programs Committee, always a supporter of the concept, is organizing events in 2022.
The first event is Thursday, March 24, 6:30-8 pm at McClintock’s Distillery’s new Back Bar at 35 S. Carroll St in downtown Frederick. Come check out their new digs; soft drinks will also be available.
***COVID-19 POLICY: Note: We are requiring proof of vaccination upon arrival and encouraging wearing of masks for those who attend. Please watch our Facebook page for this event, for any changes; if Covid positivity rates spike above 10% 10 days before, we will consider rescheduling.***
We’ll highlight the Frederick County Mobilize Frederick Climate Emergency Workgroup Recommendation #5*:
