Three forums to provide opportunity to learn more about Charter Government

This year, Frederick County voters will elect the first county executive and county council as the county makes the transition to charter government. The important primary election is less than two months away, and many county voters are still unclear about how charter government will work, how it will be different than the commissioner forum of government, or even what council district they live in.

Beginning this week, the Frederick County Commission For Women, and the Frederick County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority are sponsoring three short, free forums about charter government (these are non-partisan organizations).

The forums will be held in three different parts of the county over the next three weeks:

Tuesday, April 29 at the Urbana Regional Library

Monday, May 5 at the C. Burr Artz Library

Monday, May 12 at the Thurmont Library

At these forums, Frederick County Government Officials will address the following issues:

• What is Charter Government?

• What will change?

• What is my district?

• How will this affect the citizens of Frederick County?

The forum is free and open to the public.

Voter Registration will be available
