Advocate-by educating!
Envision Frederick County is a 501(c)3 and cannot actively lobby for candidates or parties; however we take seriously our mission of educating citizens in two broad areas:
- How to advocate-ways to use your voice, your influence and your passion to contribute to a better community
- Issues for advocacy: In our prime areas of smart growth, environmental practices, citizen engagement and equity, we track issues that need the attention of residents. Then, we provide information and “deep dive” education sessions through our Essentials program, our Conversations (webinars), Green Drinks, outings and other events to help residents understand issues more fully.
Feel free to contact us (or email Executive Director Linda Norris-Waldt) with issues that need attention, with ideas about advocacy, or anything else about community issues. We also encourage citizens and organization leaders to contribute to the Envision Frederick County blog with opinions about current issues. See our blog guidelines here and contact Linda if you are interested in writing!
