As it says in our mission statement, Envision Frederick County is “founded on the principle that informed public discourse and active engagement of individuals and groups in our civic life is essential to our well-being and prosperity,” and that absolutely includes being an informed participant in the selection of elected officials, at all levels. In that light, we are committed to being an excellent source of information about the candidates and elections in our community.
The next election ahead is the 2014 Maryland Gubernatorial election. Locally that includes the first Frederick County executive and county council under the new charter government.
The 2014 primary and general election will also include other Frederick County offices, state senators and delegates, governor and other statewide offices, and congressional elections, but our focus here will be on the election of our next county government…and first charter government.
