When: Wednesday, June 8, 2022
Where: Thorpewood Lodge, 12805-A Mink Farm Road Thurmont, MD 21788
It’s been two long years since we’ve seen you at our Annual Dinner.
Let’s celebrate being back, and all the work we’ve done, through and despite, the difficulties of the pandemic!
Come for drinks and dinner at the iconic Thorpewood Lodge, where the woods will be buzzing with fireflies and the sounds of summer.
Our Keynote Speaker!
We’re thrilled to introduce and invite you to meet Xavier Brown, of Soilful City, who will be our keynote speaker. (A portion of the night’s profits will be donated to his non-profit, SouthEats Scoop.)
Xavier is a native of Washington, DC and a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He operates at the boundaries of urban agriculture, environmental sustainability, and African Diasporic culture. His work intertwines sustainability with the issues that impact stressed communities from gun violence to mass incarceration.
By studying the practices of indigenous people and going back to ancestral knowledge, Xavier is creating a new sustainability movement that is healing the people and the land by reconnecting our sacred relationship to the earth.
